Amaranta Jácome

Amaranta Jácome is a dancer and certified somatic movement educator from Mexico. Her artistic and academic paths meet at the crossroads of embodiment and collective memory. With a degree in Political Science from UNAM and a specialization in Romani communities, Amaranta found that movement spoke where words could not. Dance became her form of inquiry—a way to access the wisdom stored in the body. She has traveled to Turkey, Hungary, and India to study traditional dances and has brought expert teachers to Mexico to share these cultural lineages. Her work now centers on guiding others in meaningful, embodied encounters with themselves and the world.

Amaranta specializes in Ghawazee dance, a traditional Egyptian form known for its grounded footwork, powerful hip movements, and expressive isolations. Rooted in the legacy of hereditary dancers who performed in communal settings, Ghawazee celebrates rhythm, presence, and connection. It’s a dance of joy and strength—one that honors cultural memory and invites each dancer to embody history with every step.
