Diana Rego
Diana Rego is a dancer, choreographer, and performing artist whose work is rooted in tradition and fueled by transformation. With a master’s degree in Theatre and Performing Arts from the Superior School of Theater and Cinema in Portugal and over two decades of experience on global stages, Diana has taught, performed, and created across Europe, China, India, Mexico, Brazil, and the United States. She is the founder of her own dance company, formed in 2010, where she continues her deep investigation into the ancestral rhythms and ritual dances of the Middle East, Africa, India, and Brazil—exploring how those traditions live and evolve within the contemporary body.
Diana’s commitment to inclusion is as strong as her artistic vision. She leads projects that use dance and theater to bridge generations, cultures, and social realities, collaborating with international residencies such as Muse, Stage Box, and Largo Residences. Her academic path includes post-graduate studies in dance education at UFBA (Brazil), a specialization in devising theater at Dartington Hall Trust (UK), and a foundational degree in Interpretation at the Superior School of Music and Performing Arts in Portugal. Whether in the studio or on the stage, Diana brings forward a rich, embodied language—one that honors the roots of each movement while inviting bold new expression.
