Claudia Llanos

Claudia Llanos is a lifelong dancer whose journey began in the heart of Mexico and led her across the world to the deserts of Rajasthan. After discovering the mesmerizing rhythms and expressive beauty of Kalbeliya and Ghoomar dance in her early adulthood, Claudia found not just a style, but a calling. She has since devoted herself to learning, honoring, and sharing these vibrant traditions, returning often to India to study directly with master artists. Her teaching blends deep cultural respect with radiant stage presence, inviting each dancer to move with both grace and intention.

Kalbeliya and Ghoomar are traditional dance forms rooted in the vibrant heritage of Rajasthan, India. Kalbeliya is known for its fluid, serpentine movements, mirroring the graceful motion of snakes — a tribute to the nomadic Kalbeliya community, historically known as snake charmers. Dancers perform in swirling black skirts adorned with mirrors and embroidery, moving in mesmerizing spirals to the pulse of folk rhythms. Ghoomar, by contrast, is a celebration of feminine grace and royalty. Once danced by women in royal courts, it features slow, elegant twirls in richly colored lehengas, often performed during festivals and rites of passage. Together, these styles carry centuries of story, strength, and artistry through every turn and step.
